Conventional Dentures
Conventional dentures refer to dentures that do not utilize dental implants to achieve additional retention and are fabricated using dental acrylics (PMMA). Conventional dentures that typically lack the cosmetic variability and asymmetry that is found in natural teeth will give the wearer a typical "denture look".
Personalized conventional dentures are made by utilizing denture teeth which are fabricated with multiple color layers to mimic the anatomical structures and reflective properties of real teeth resulting in a more natural appearance. The Denturist ensures that the size, color and individualized arrangement of the teeth is appropriate for the client thus achieving a more "natural looking" prosthesis that is as unique to you.
Immediate or Surgical Dentures
Surgical dentures are constructed prior to the extraction of your teeth and inserted immediately after the extractions by the dentist or oral surgeon, this allows the patient to have a complete smile without any missing teeth.
Immediate dentures will help you to adapt more quickly to wearing dentures and you also avoid the embarrassment of not having any teeth during the healing phase. Surgical dentures also assist in controlling the post-surgical bleeding and swelling following the dental surgery by acting as a Band-Aid over the extraction sites.
Typically the extraction sites will continue to shrink during the healing period of approximately six to twelve months following extractions. Temporary liners are utilized to help maintain the fit of the dentures during the healing phase.
Once the extraction sites have fully healed, the immediate denture will require a permanent reline to replace the temporary liner material with denture acrylic and ultimately provide a final fitting surface that is easier to keep clean. In some instances when an excessive amount of tissue change has occurred, the denture teeth may have to be reset to help restore the stability and/or esthetics of the denture.
Suction-Effective BSP Dentures
Utilizing a technical protocol developed by Dr. Jiro Abe to achieve effective suction with the lower denture for suitable complete denture wearers. This unique technique offers the best possible fit when placement of dental implant is not being considered. The level of effective suction that can be achieved is limited by the existing oral anatomy.

All Biofunctional Prosthetic System (BPS) dentures are constructed using Ivoclar teeth, a UTS facebow registration with remount on a Stratos adjustable articulator, and finally a continuous injection acrylic processing system is used to finish the denture.
This protocol for denture construction ensures that the denture fits MORE accurately and has better functional stability which ultimately leads to better preservation of the supporting oral tissues. Secondly, the use of premium quality multi-layered composite teeth provides a more natural esthetic appearance and increased wear resistance.
Partial Dentures
Partial dentures are designed for those clients with one or more teeth missing, but not fully edentulous. Partial dentures are typically more secure that full dentures, since they are physically held in place by clasps, precision attachments or implants and are designed to fit around the existing natural teeth. Flipper partials are usually an option for a missing single tooth and are intended for short-term use as an esthetic and space maintenance appliance and typical do not offer a good fit.
Partial dentures can be constructed using conventional acrylic with wire clasps, or a flexible material or with a metal framework. There are a number of factors that influence the type of partial design and materials that would be appropriate for an individual and these variables would be discussed with you by your Denturist.
Overdentures
An overdenture is an appliance that fits over a small number of remaining teeth that have been recontoured by a dentist. The recontoured teeth will help to preserve the underlying bone and aid with the fit of a full denture. It is also possible to have root level attachments placed to offer better retention. We can determine if an overdenture would be suitable for you following a proper dental evaluation of your oral situation.
Implant Borne Dentures
Ranging from two or more missing teeth to complete dentures which are specifically designed for clients who have had or are undergoing dental implant placement surgery. Implant dentures can be either removable or fixed depending upon the number and size of implants that can be placed and ultimate goals of the client. Dental implants are used most often to help stabilize the lower denture and allows the wearer to eat with greater comfort and confidence compared to a conventional lower denture.
Once a decision has been made to get implants, a thorough examination has to be completed by the Oral Surgeon or Dentist to determine if you are a suitable candidate for implants.
Following the surgery, there is a healing period during which the prosthesis is not mechanically attached to the implant. Once the healing period has elapsed, either the existing prosthesis or a new prosthesis is fitted with the appropriate attachments that will engage the dental implants directly or a titanium bar. This type of mechanical locking provides for a secure fit that is just not possible with conventional dentures, especially the lower denture.
This type of treatment is highly recommended for people with compromised ridges which offer little or no support for conventional dentures and as a result experience excessive movement and function issues.
Digital Dentures
Digital scanning and digital printing of denture allow us to provide dentures with very high levels of accuracy and reproducibility. This technology allows us to perform a normal wax try-in using a monolithic resin to better evaluate the final fit, occlusion and esthetic without worrying about the wax trial denture getting distorted or any tooth movement form biting too hard.
